It’s been an exceptional year for Lindsey Vonn. The 25-year-old, seen here at Lake Louise, where she won earlier in the season, became the first American woman to claim an Olympic downhill gold at the Winter Games in Vancouver, before sealing a third straight overall FIS World Cup for women’s skiing.

Adolph and Rudolf Dassler created their first sneaker in 1920 in Herzogenaurach, Germany. After their first sneaker, Dassler shoe gained a reputation for athletic sneakers. In fact, Jesse Owens won four Gold medals in the 1936 Olympic Games wearing a pair of Dassler shoes.
